Your Portuguese sermon, in English and Spanish, on each phone

If your church preaches in Portuguese, Aulra Voice lets the people around you follow the sermon in English or Spanish. Your pastor speaks into a microphone. Each listener scans a QR code and hears the translation on their own phone, with their own earbuds, without disturbing the person beside them.

For the people sitting next to you

In a Portuguese-speaking church in the US, someone in the room may be only partly following along:

  • Children who grew up here. They think in English, and they sit through a sermon they half understand.
  • Husbands and wives who married into the church. They come every week and still miss most of the message.
  • The neighbor who speaks Spanish. A friend invited them, and they'd like to understand what's being said.

If a bilingual member has been whispering the sermon to someone in the pew, you already know the need. Aulra offers that same help to everyone who wants it, at once, at their own volume. Nobody has to sit in a separate room to understand the sermon.

What Sunday looks like

One person can set it up alone, and it doesn't have to be a technician.

  1. Before the service, a volunteer signs in on a laptop or phone, opens the Aulra console and picks the microphone.
  2. Show the QR code on the screen, or print it for the pews. Mention it in your welcome so first-time visitors know it's there.
  3. People scan it with their phone camera and pick English or Español. They'll need their own earbuds.
  4. The volunteer starts the broadcast when the sermon begins and stops it when the sermon ends.

Credit is used only while you're translating, so a broadcast limited to the sermon uses less than one left running all morning.

What it isn't

Aulra translates the person speaking in Portuguese, and that's all it does. It's AI, and it can get things wrong, including names and words that are specific to your church. Before you announce it, try it with your own pastor, and ask a bilingual member to listen and tell you how it sounds. It's not a substitute for a human interpreter.

What four Sundays could cost

Four events a monthLanguage-hoursMonthly total
1 hour, one language4US$ 36.50
2 hours, one language8US$ 58.10
2 hours, two languages16US$ 101.30

These are estimates at US$ 5.40 per language-hour, including the US$ 14.90 subscription. Credit is bought in packs, so charges may fall in different months. The cost depends on how long you translate and how many languages you offer. A full room costs the same as a half-empty one, and listeners never pay. See the packs.

What's said in church

We don't keep audio, transcripts or translations of your services. Our AI providers may retain data temporarily under their own terms, as the Privacy Policy explains. Listeners don't create an account to hear the translation.

Frequently asked questions

Can Aulra translate a sermon preached in English?

No. Aulra only works when the speaker is speaking Portuguese. If your sermon is in English, it isn't the right tool for your church.

Do our members need to download an app?

No. The QR code opens a web page. Nobody installs anything or pays anything.

Can we offer English and Spanish at the same time?

Yes. Each listener picks one. Each language counts separately, so a one-hour sermon in both uses 2 language-hours.

Should we stop using our volunteer interpreter?

That's your call, but Aulra isn't a substitute for a human interpreter. For pastoral conversations, or anything where a mistake could hurt someone, a person who knows both languages is the right choice.

Does Aulra record the sermon?

No. If your church records its services, that stays a separate process.

Is Aulra only for churches?

No. It works for any event with one person speaking in Portuguese. See conferences and Portuguese to English live translation.

Try it with your pastor before Sunday.

Your first 30 language-minutes are free, with your own microphone and phones. Your card is verified, not charged.
